History: Jeb was born into the enormous Guthrie family. When he was still small, his father, a miner in a local coal mine, died. Jeb never really knew Zeke Guthrie, whose position as provider was taken by Jeb's eldest brother, Sam. Jeb saw Sam very little when he was growing up, as his time was often spent in the mines, and later was sent to Xavier's School after discovering he was a mutant.
After this had happened, his eldest sister, Paige, took over watching the family as their mother sought out a job, until she, too, gained the abilities that would mark her as a mutant.
It was around this time that Jeb first met the Cabot family, an affluent clan in Cumberland that hated the Guthries for having so many mutant children. He was constantly being teased about that, and the fact that his family was poor. This all came to a head after Jeb himself had his powers activated.
After a heated confrontation with the Cabot family, in which Jeb intentionally started a fight. Using his ability to fire beams of energy from his eyes against a Cabot, the sheriff of the town was forced to incapacitate Jeb, resulting in the boy to misfire at a gas station, causing it to explode.
These events led to a confrontation between the Cabots, the Guthries, and the X-Men, alonng with his sister Paige, which concluded in the deaths of Julia Cabot and the father of his friend and adopted brother, Ray Jr.
Abilities: Jeb is capable of firing concentrated blasts of electric energy from his eyes. When making contact wih an object or person, the enrgy engulfs that thing in electrical fire that won't go out until Jeb is knocked out, or he wills the flame to die out. The exact extent of his power is unknown, but it's been shown that he could demolish a gas station with a single blast.
Personality: Jeb is almost insufferably cocky. The day his powers manifested, he used them in order to stop the torment of a bully, only to be nearly arrested after destroying a gas station in the process. After this incident, he seemed to feel no remorse over the events of that day. However, Jeb could be said to be loyal to his family, defending them at every step he takes.
